Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department offers comprehensive and diverse services include recreation, athletic, social, art, special event, park and facility operations/maintenance, open space acquisition, urban forestry management and other many other services.
Mercer Island Parks and Rec serve preschool age children, youth, teen, adult, family and senior populations through partnerships with community agencies, businesses and institutions.
Mercer Island boasts 35 parks and open space areas boasting over 400 acres and trails in excess of 50 miles, as well as many excellent biking trails.
Many residents utilize the I-90 bike trail to commute to nearby Seattle to the West and Bellevue to the East.
Mercer has an abundance of yearly events including the Forest Stewardship even Oct.10th & 17th and the Monster Mash Dash Family Fun Run through Luther Burbank Park on Oct.31st.
